Bangor Y Barracuda Swim Team
The Barracuda Swim Team is the Bangor Y's year-round competitive swim program. We aim to build a sense of community and team orientation in each of our members ~ male and female swimmers between the ages of 6 and 18. Each swimmer is provided with an opportunity to develop strong values, self-discipline, time management skills, and self-esteem in tandem with proper stroke mechanics. The team looks for swimmers who are sincerely interested in challenging themselves in the areas of physical and psychological training.
The Barracuda Swim Team's 2011-2012 winter season currently has a roster that includes over 90 swimmers. As we look forward to our 2012 SUMMER season, it is the goal of Coach Eric Palmer and the Barracuda Swimming staff to continue to develop the Barracuda Swim Team as one of the strongest YMCA/USA-S Age Group teams in Maine.
The 2012 Summer Season has now STARTED! We are welcoming all returning swimmers as well as NEW swimmers to the team. If you have any questions please contact Eric for Summer Team information.

The summer program is an excellent time for those who are interested in trying competitive swimming to get their feet wet on the team or make a move from an instructional program to the competitive side. This is the perfect opportunity for those High School swimmers who want to keep the feel for the water and gain a little from the successes of February.
